KC

I typically don't wake my kids when they are sleeping but since most of my good ideas happen while they are sleeping sometimes I have to wake them up and get them to work with me. Haylee was so funny I put on the whole thing. Anyway, KC has been working so hard, he always has but we set the goal to get out of debt so KC decided to deliver pizzas at night to speed up the debt free process. Which it has tons. Anyway so I wanted to do something nice for him and heard this song on the radio and it made me weepy so I made it for KC so he can be weepy too. Now I am putting it on here since my sisters and parents always need an extra reason to be weepy too. haha. I figure since Maria can put up stuff bragging about her great husband than I can too. At least it isn't over the pulpit or anything. I also noticed it isn't edited well at all but I got to take a shower before he gets home.

PS~ I am sure all your husbands are wonderful too.

Smart things I know

Hair conditioner makes excellent shave gel
Wash kid toys in the dishwasher. Apparently they recommend you disinfect toys monthly....ya we don't
Jackie buys ground beef in bulk, cooks it, and then freezes it. Makes for a quick dinner
Dax cuts homemade bread with electric knife
It seems to be that Pampers are more for skiny babies and huggies are...not (Miriam)
Windex kills ants really well (Spencer and Kristene)
Put lemon juice and water in the microwave until it steams and then let it sit for like 30 minutes. Cooked on stuff cleans lots easier
Bedtime timers work great since you can't argue with time (Dan and Angie gave me that one)
Sometimes it is better to put the toy in timeout instead of the kid
Not only does tang clean dishwashers, but so does lemonade and any thing with citric acid like lemon juice. Liquid on top rack, powder in dispenser
You can wash shower curtains in the washer, way easier

Homemade Wipes

Things You'll Need:
*roll of paper towels (We like Bounty)
*plastic container with lid
*1 tablespoon baby soap
*1 tablespoon baby oil
*3/4 cup water

So just cut the paper towel in half and rip out the cardboard center with the towels still rolled up. Then smush the towels into the plastic container and add all the liquids. We mix the liquids together first. We have always doubled the liquid because it doesn't seem like it is enough liquid but maybe it is for you. We also use lavendar baby soup because what can I say, we are just fancy.

Good and Bad products

I pretty much think that every sipper cup stinks. We are curently using the nuby type cups since they don't have plugs. Easton is a pro at throwing all the others and making the plug pop out so they just pour everywhere. They others drip but at least they don't pour. Easton even threw one of those hard plastic plates last night and busted that in half. He must have the strong gene. :)
Oxy clean works awesome if you soak it over night. It even gets out old stains. When people see my soaking clothes I tell them they are marinating.
Swiffer mop
Noemi has had rashes like crazy so I tried homemade wipes and I actually like them
I love mint.com. It is a money organizing, budgeting tool and it is free and great.
Ion heat treatment also at Sally's
Sally's Beauty Supply has what's called Generic Brand silk treatment, it takes care of fly aways and makes hair um silky
Diaper disposable bags from Dollar Tree, it is a lot easier and more convient than shopping bags with how many we fly through at my house
Netflix, didn't realize how inexpensive it is compared to forgetting to return movies or driving to Redbox
Washable nursing pads are completly pointless
Magic Eraser
Chlorox and Lysol wipes, works on like everything and sponges get pretty gross looking while you are cleaning

The current news on KC (as you know it can change daily)

11/10 so no board this month. KC's unit didn't get his packet in on time so maybe in December he will go
As of 10/21 we still don't have a date for the board. KC went and talked to his old case manager and she didn't know. He has to file a new packet so they will be working on that. If they do kick us out though there is a new rule that says you stay in the army for an additional 280 days. Ya you read that right.
KC's unit deployed so KC is on Rear D which means he attends lots of formations, cleans stuff, takes people to jail or Psych, and does lots of staff duty
As of 7/30 KC is back in the training room because first sgt freaked out because nothing is getting done. He will go back to the S3 some during deployment but for now the training room needs him
KC got assigned to the S3 shop (radio guys) during JRTC and will be there permenently when he gets back. I hear this is good and like a promotion. He was picked because they said they needed a good soldier
They are saying that he has to go to his medical board in Nov. so he will not be deploying with his unit right away
The board decides if we stay in the army, reclass to a different job, wait longer, or deploy

Miss Haylee

I told Haylee at dinner that I had been trying to get her attention and she replied "we'll no you can't have it. it is mine". When I told her that attention was like trying to get someone to look at you she looked really embarrassed and we both laughed.
So I was working with Gunner on his tricks and Haylee yells hop on one foot to Gunner. I told her we would work on it.
A couple weeks ago we were at the playground and there was a tree that had fallen down. Haylee asked what had happened and who did it and I told her I didn't know. Then she said well Jesus just needs to make a new one. I agreed with her and laughed. It was cute.
Last Sunday Haylee and KC were bonding I guess while I was getting ready for church. I walk into my room and see KC putting mascara on Haylee (ya who is 3 years old). He has put eyeshadow on her before but only the stuff that really doesn't show up. She loves all that stuff and KC loves her which sometimes leads to trouble. So ya black, waterproof mascara on my little girl right as we are going to church. I kept telling KC how embarrissing it is since it isn't Halloween and we were at church. So he takes her out during sacrament and tries to wash it off but like I said its waterproof so it was still on and then Haylee went through church with it smeared all under her eyes. It looked like she hadn't slept in weeks. I am sure we are going to be in big trouble with this whole makeup thing in the future. Even when I was putting her to bed she wanted to look in her mirror to see her makeup and telling me not to touch it. We did learn that she has even longer eyelashes then her Daddy so lucky for her.
Haylee calls chap stick lips and wants to put it on multiple times a day. Now she has started asking others if they have lips on. As you can imagine people look at her really funny.
She loves to get her haircut. Everytime we drive past Wal-mart she asks for a haircut. She even sat by herself last time and sat so still. She gets really intense about hair dos. She will brush your hair for like 45 minutes if you let her. She likes to do hers, Easton, and Noemi's
Haylee loves girly stuff and KC had gotten awesome at doing things for her. He does her nails often and she LOVES it. They pick out colors and put on lots of coats and then KC hand paints flowers on her toes. It is very professional and fancy. Haylee as you can tell has to sit still forever since it is not quite the process. It is a fun thing for them. Haylee loves to show them off all the time. Sometimes Noemi or the neighbor Lily get in on the fun.
Is a great big sister and an excellent helper.
KC is teaching Haylee (and by association me) Spanish. She likes it and they are having a good time. The only problem is she likes to ask me what words are in spanish while KC is at work.
Has 20 teeth and no cavities. We made it though the dentist and she even let them clean her teeth. It was a miricle really. She sat on my lap and they had to do everything to me first but we made it.
This lady from preschool is going to be coming over to see Haylee some time next week. So I was talking to Haylee about all this and telling her the lady was coming. Haylee goes Uh, I be pretty...uh you be pretty too. It all started with telling Haylee she can't wear jammies out in public and then ya... apparently she is going to have a complex.
Haylee loves to tell everyone that she has a baby in her tummy. Yesterday she told me the baby in her tummy is kicking. Lots of our friends from church are pregnant. Definently not me before you get any ideas. Oh and Haylee's baby is a boy.
Her favorite word is why?... You can imagine how fun that is all day
We were reading a story and Haylee saw a picture of Noah and shouts Santa Clause
Grandpa asked what's your favorite thing to do? Haylee said, "Grandpa, um open presents"
Our friend was playing got your nose with Haylee and Haylee says "nose back please"

Things about Noemi

Has turned into a mommy's girl. Loves to cuddle all the time. In the morning she wants nothing to do with anyone in the house unless it is momma and can't stand for anyone else to come near. She turns violent.
Likes to do this cute little wiggle when there is music on
Communicates extremly effective and very high pitched and urgent. I am sure you are thinking I am exagerating but you have no idea!
Refuses to sit in high chairs. She either stands or climbs out and sits on the table
Walks
Pushes everything
Loves the 4 wheeler and is on it all day
Climbs in, on, or under everything
Answers to pretty pretty, mis-it, and anything that starts with a N since her name is mispronounced often (It's No..M..E)
Makes a lot of funny faces
Cuddles when she is tired and its special and rare
Has 6 teeth
Has a lot of opinions and talks a lot
Stands up for herself
Is very curious
Can go up and down stairs
Is very independent
Can stand by herself

Easton's Bullying

Oct- a couple nights ago Easton wouldn't let Noemi go to sleep even though she was tired since he wasn't. So I went in to try and calm things down. I tucked Easton in again and was helping Noemi. All the lights were off and we were all almost asleep. Then Easton sneaks out of bed and starts poking me in the eye. After like 10 times he moves onto my mouth. I was still trying to fake asleep so he would give up but they he pinched my nose and I busted out laughing. KC loves to do that all the time to the kids. No wonder if one kid is awake the other is.
The same night I was kind of spying on the twins since they thought I was sleeping. Easton starts hitting Noemi as hard as he can and Noemi just laughs everytime. This just makes Easton hit more. Some game they have going. I always felt like they always get matching bobo's during quiet time. "Hey that hurt, see wham"
Apparently he was born this way or maybe he just hangs out with his Dad a lot
In Idaho Haylee didn't want to get her clothes wet when we were splashing in the kiddy pool. She took off her sweater and stuff and put them far away under a tree. Easton immediately goes and gets them and throws them in the pool and then throws them at his sisters. He thought it was awesome and we all laughed a lot.
KC laughs and says well everyone says he is just like me :)
